Training
Basic obedience is a part of everyday life at Barkley Square. While your buddy is here, we will reinforce the most common skills of sit, down and stay as well as many other basic commands.
Classes are ongoing and students can enroll anytime based on availability. To enroll contact info@barkleysquare.net or call 408-586-8690. If there is an available spot in the class students are welcome to show up that week to start training. If the class you desire is full, you will have the option to join the waiting list. In most cases, prospective students only have to wait two to three weeks to get started.
Schedule Of Classes
Puppy 101:
Ages: 10 weeks to 6 months
Fee: $125 for eight sessions
The commands taught in Puppy 101 are as follows:
- Socialization (learning how to interact with unknown dogs and people)
- Group recalls (calling your dog to you and away from other dogs during play)
- Behavior Problems (biting, chewing, digging, jumping, stealing, barking and housebreaking)
- Boundary Training (teaches your dog not to run off undirected. Will assist you in training your puppy not to run into the street, out the front
door, out of the garage, or to stay out of certain rooms in your home)
- Grooming: Basic grooming techniques, first-aid, and nutrition.
Because it is essential to have at least three puppies in a puppy class for socialization purposes, we do not always have a puppy class. If you are interested in enrolling your puppy call us at 408-586-8690 and we will let you know if we currently have a class going. If not we can add your name to a list and when we have three names we can start a new class.
